The Founders Reset: Meet Yourself Before You Meet Your Strategy

Introducing The Founders Reset, an intentional weekend for founders, creatives, and entrepreneurs hosted at The Balcomo and guided by Editors’ Picks OKANAGAN.

Inspired by the philosophy of Stillness Is the Key, this 48-hour experience is designed to create the space most founders don’t give themselves: an intentional pause before the next decision, pivot, or level of growth. Through guided journal prompts, intentional stillness, quiet reading, wellness circuits, and decisive reflection, you will move through a carefully designed emotional arc from overstimulated to softened by the end of the weekend.

This is not coaching. This is not a workshop. This is structured clarity.

The Balcomo: Where Rest and Reflection Meet Refined Accomodation

The Balcomo is more than a hotel: they’re a cozy sanctuary for unforgettable experiences with a wealth of wellness amenities we’ll be enjoying all weekend long. This includes their sauna/cold plunge/hot tub circuit, exclusive access to the Wellness Centre for our group (think soft stretching or light pilates in the salt rock yoga studio, and quiet contemplation in the relaxation room), as well as group gatherings in a sunny courtyard suite.

We intentionally placed this reset at their hotel because the space is as stunning as it is relaxing. All bookings for this weekend include a beautifully appointed ground floor guest room, offering a refined and calming environment designed for rest and reflection. In the mornings you can step out onto your private patio with courtyard views—perfect for enjoying the Okanagan sunshine with a cup of coffee in hand. Take advantage of added conveniences like a soaker tub for designated reading hours or a quiet moment to reflect while listening to our curated playlist, The Deep Exhale.

At the end of the weekend you’ll leave with fewer ideas—and clearer ones.

A Weekend Designed for Founders, Creatives, and Entrepreneurs

This weekend is a 48-hour reset designed to give you clarity on what matters most—personally and professionally.

This is for you if:

  • You’re carrying a level of responsibility that requires clarity—not more input
  • You’re making decisions that shape your next year (or next version of your life)
  • You feel the pressure to keep moving—but know you need to pause first
  • You’ve outgrown advice, and need space to hear your own thinking again
  • You’re clear on many things—but not the right things

This experience exists because most founders never create the space to think—
until it becomes unavoidable.

This is not for you if:

  • You’re looking for coaching, mentorship, or expert guidance
  • You want structured programming, group discussion, or networking
  • You’re hoping someone else will help you find the answer

There is no facilitator here to direct you. No one telling you what your next move should be. Only the space—and the structure—to arrive at it yourself.

Stillness Is The Key: Our Inspiration For This Reset

Our own founder, Natalie Grant, chose Stillness Is The Key because it’s all about the power of, well, stillness. The book itself explains why this philosophy of slowing down is the secret weapon to charging ahead in today’s world.

It’s a quality we all need: to remain steady while the rest of the world spins.

But sometimes, we need a gentle reminder. Which is where our structured prompts and scheduled reflection periods come into play. Included in the weekend is a Founder’s Journal and specific, curated questions meant to help you meet yourself again before you strategize.

We designed the reset around gently guided prompts and activities because we ourselves felt a deep need for this intentional stillness.

“It’s a busy world out there and we are going at an extremely fast pace,” explains Natalie Grant, founder of Editors’ Picks OKANAGAN and Grant Communications. “We’ve been doing this for the last five to ten years, especially with technology’s rapid changes, and I think we’re all recognizing the need to pause, reset, and regroup before moving forward again.”

At the core of our digital magazine is a love for all things business and lifestyle—and that includes a balance for both. This weekend reset offers fellow founders, creatives, and entrepreneurs the chance to do just that.
