Step Into Mission Hill’s Holiday Magic

To spark your holiday cheer, Mission Hill Family Estate delivers breathtaking displays and charming, nostalgic experiences.

As the only six-time winner of Winery of the Year, it’s a no-brainer that Mission Hill just does it best. From crafting Canada’s first 100-point red wine to leading the valley with visionary viticulture, their estate shines—for good reason. And during the holidays, no one else comes close.

From now until the start of January, we highly encourage you to make them your top choice for festivities because the entire estate transforms into a winter wonderland. With their annual Festival of Trees kicking off on November 21st with their light-up celebration, it’s the perfect time to discover all the holiday spectacles you can find sprinkled across their West Kelowna winery.

Read on for a full round-up of seasonal offerings and new experiences, and let the magical season begin!

The Ninth Annual Festival of Trees at Mission Hill Family Estate

A beloved annual tradition in Okanagan wine country, Mission Hill’s Festival of Trees is more than a seasonal event—its a way to support the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation as a percentage of proceeds goes directly to helping those who need it most.

Deep underground, their barrel cellar changes into an oasis of decorated trees thanks to sponsors from local businesses and community members. Wander between the evergreens displayed throughout the estate from November 22nd all the way until January 4th and let the winter wonder take flight amidst twinkling lights and festive décor.

Finish your visit with a seated tasting of curated wines paired with artisanal bites that celebrate holiday flavours, et voilá! It’s the perfect winery holiday experience to kick off the merriment.

Mission Hill’s NEW Seasonal Bar: The Barrel & The Bell

This year, Mission Hill is happily introducing their new seasonal bar: The Barrel & The Bell. For those who have yet to experience its ambiance, just picture the type of place that calls for you to linger over a drink that settles deep, savouring the spices of the holidays with artisanal cocktails and even better company.

Enjoy small bites alongside a drink of your choice, like the Orchard & Thyme—perfect for those who crave something delicate, yet distinctive. For folks who want a bit of a bite, make sure to sample the Crimson & Maple, featuring Bearface whisky aged in old Mission Hill barrels. Or perhaps you’re more in line with Emma D’Arcy and craving a Negroni Sbagliato… Whatever you fancy, The Barrel & The Bell is open daily, 12PM to 7PM, no reservations required.

Hot toddy, anyone?

Holiday Shopping at the Boutique

The interior of the winery is just as spectacular as its architecture thanks to the beauty of their wine shop. Curated collections and library wines are artfully displayed because, as they say, everything in The Boutique tells a story. This winter, the theme is La Fête, softly inviting you to celebrate the beauty in simple, everyday moments.

You can browse one of Canada’s largest collections of globally-sourced vintage trunks from esteemed houses like Louis Vuitton, Goyard, Au Depart, Moynat, Hermes, Guicci, and more—some even with celebrity provenance. Or, discover Executive Chef Patrick Gayler’s new provisional line, Farmstead, with small batch preserves using the best of the season’s ingredients prepared right in the estate’s kitchen. Perfect for holiday gift ideas in the Okanagan, especially for a foodie, you can peruse items like the Pink Lady Apple Chutney, Barrel Smoked Onion Jam, Estate Honey, and more. And for a simple shopper, they have curated gift sets perfect for everyone.

The Boutique was also recognized as an Honorable Mention in VMSD Magazine’s 32nd annual International Visual Competition, putting Mission Hill as the only winery featured alongside leading global retailers in fashion and home. It is truly a feast for the senses and an ideal stop for gifting opportunities! Open daily from 12PM to 7PM.

Enjoy a Private Salon and the NEW Sip & Wrap Holiday Experience

What better way to go from shopping to artfully wrapping your gifts than their new Sip & Wrap Holiday Experience?! Bring your gifts to Mission Hill—or find them in the Boutique with a 10% discount on select items day-of—and then enjoy complementary festive materials in a Private Salon where you and your guests can savour a flight of four wines while you settle into the holiday spirit. It’s Okanagan wine tasting, made festive.

Only offered on select dates—December 5th, 6th, and 7th as well as 12th, 13th, and 14th—this is a beautiful way to gather with family and friends while sipping on fine wine in a stunning space. You can even elevate the afternoon with an optional charcuterie plate…. Need we say more?

Celebrate Food and Wine Artistry with a Holiday Culinary Class

Find yourself transported into the world of gastronomy when you visit the winery for their much-anticipated annual Culinary Classes. For those who know, these evenings are immersive, exploratory, and refined; tickets sell out so fast it’s a surprise they even go up.

Celebrate the artistry of food and wine through chef-led, four-course dinners paired with Mission Hill’s finest. More importantly, they’ve got a fantastic lineup of dates and themes to choose from—just for the holidays—perfect for gifting or just enjoying an evening in their Culinary Theatre yourself.

Gifting Made Easy with Mission Hill Gift Sets

As a lifestyle and business magazine focuses on the best of the Okanagan, we’d be remiss not to highlight their numerous accolades, and for good reason. As the only name to win Winery of the Year six times running and earning their spot in history as Canada’s first 100-point red wine, there’s a level of prestige associated with the Mission Hill label. So why not spoil your loved ones with a gift set?

For Okanagan holiday gift ideas, there are many options to choose from:

  • Lasting Legacy Set
  • Compentium Vertical Library Trio
  • Okanagan Expressions
