Nestled on the rolling hills overlooking Penticton, Skaha Hills has fast become the Okanagan’s number one real estate development—and for good reason. Once a barren landscape, this hillside community is now a vision of dreams with stunning views, energy efficient homes, plenty of exclusive amenities, and a resort-style lifestyle that rivals any other in Canada.
It’s all the extraordinary parts of Okanagan living in one desirable location!
So we sat down with the Vice President of development, Curt Jansen, to get the inside scoop on all things Skaha Hills. After many years of hard work, there’s one thing that truly sticks out for him: the joy and happiness to see all the dreams and visions for Skaha Hills come to fruition.
“I love what I’m doing,” Jansen says. “I love the creativity and I love the people. So seeing people happy—helping people find a wonderful home to start another chapter in their life—is a gratifying thing to be able to do.”

The story of Skaha Hills begins in the early 2000s when the Penticton Indian Band decided they wanted to develop a community on a corner of their territory—but for many years, this idea remained stagnant. Until Curt Jansen and his partner, Chris Scott, jumped onboard the project.
The Penticton Indian Band first designated 550-acres of their hillside terrain while Jansen and Scott encouraged them to team up with Greyback Construction Ltd., an award-winning building company with deep roots in the Penticton area spanning more than 100 years and four generations.
Shortly afterward, all three groups sat down with a collection of engineers and architects, building a real braintrust to start and visualize what exactly this community could be. It was a collaborative effort, one they reworked until they felt it was the right vision for that hillside.
And so Skaha Hills was born.

Now, thanks to the teamwork and collaboration between all groups, Skaha Hills’ winding streets seamlessly integrate to the natural contours of the land with an array of affordable luxury homes and amenities.
Residents can choose between single-family homes or rancher-style condos, each developed with green energy-efficient features, modern architectural designs, an open concept kitchen and living space, as well as designer selected interior finish and colour options!
But Jansen is very proud that Skaha Hills continues to grow with new builds, new features, and even more exclusive community amenities. Coming soon is a trail system for hikers and bikers that’s exclusive to residents and their guests, as well as an indoor pickleball courts and golf simulator complex.
Currently they already have a clubhouse, fitness room, pool and hot tub deck, outdoor pickle ball and tennis courts, green spaces, social hubs, dog parks, and paved pathways for e-bikes or golf carts—oh, did we forget to mention the entire community is golf cart friendly? An essential component when down the hill is a 9-hole course perfect for community members to mingle and enjoy a quick game!
This is what we mean by resort-style life.

“How many places have a winery and restaurant on site? A stroll to the beach? A stroll to the golf course? Out your back door you’re hiking or biking in the wilderness or walking your dog,” Jansen says. “Those lifestyle amenities out your back door are unprecedented.”
It’s just one of the reasons this neighbourhood is so desirable for locals and newcomers alike, and fast becoming a sought-after place to settle down and enjoy life’s finer moments.
Picture this: you wake up and go for a leisurely walk along the budding vineyard wines, spend the afternoon enjoying Skaha Lake—just minutes away—or lounging by the pool, and then end the day with a glass of wine overlooking Penticton’s cityscape and stunning mountain views.
All this and more become your everyday life when you settle into Skaha Hills.

“[Penticton has] one of the most desirable climates in all of Canada,” Jansen says. “We get to live in a place where people save up all year long to come here for a week or two holiday.”
Originally from Edmonton, Jansen has fond memories of his parents taking his family to Penticton for summertime vacations. Our valley is truly desirable for both national and international crowds, with beautiful weather, low rainfall in the summer, warm waters, and a whole landscape made into a playground.
“For those of us that are lucky enough and fortunate enough to know about Pentiction,” Jansen says, “to be able to choose it as a place to call home is an honour and a privilege.”
And in a place like Skaha Hills? It’s a dream come true.
That’s why their tagline is: Visiting Here is Breathtaking… Owning Here is Life Changing.

Bottom line, Skaha Hills has the best value for the dollar of any place in the Okanagan to live. If you combine its lifestyle, views, energy-efficient homes, commitment to sustainable builds, and warm and welcoming community, you can’t find anything else quite like it.
So what are you waiting for?! Make your dreams a reality and contact Curt for more information on your next adventure: moving to Skaha Hills.
