Look, we get it, the 90s are making a comeback—blame Gen Zed and their obsession with flared jeans… But other than a few questionable clothing choices that definitely deserve to stay in the past, the kids are onto something! Retro and vintage is always in style. Thankfully the Okanagan has a handful of stellar businesses meeting these Back to the Future needs.
One thing that we love about second-hand is that it’s an environmentally friendly way to update your wardrobe, giving previous items a new home. Being gentle on our planet has never looked so good!

1. Kelowna’s Shax Vintage
When it comes to kickin’ it old school like nobody’s business, Kelowna’s Shax Vintage clothing shop has provided affordable vintage clothes to the community for over eight years. The name comes from combining Shayne and Max—the owners and originators—into one local business brand you can trust when it comes to retro fits. They’re doing so well that they’ve even got a second location in Penticton!

2. The Carousel Collective in Summerland
If you’re looking for some stellar summer finds, then look no further than Summerland’s The Carousel Collective. With ten different unique vendors you can discover a curated collection of antiques, vintage, and previously pre-loved items in their store. Repping the retro since 1994, this is the spot to find everything from kitschy old fruit packing labels to quirky collectable sneakers. With a love for sustainability, they keep your wardrobe ethically sourced—meaning you won’t just look good, you’ll feel good, too!

3. Elizabeth O. Vintage in Downtown Penticton
Keeping Penticton outfitted with that laid back vibe, you can stop by Elizabeth O. Vintage for all your retro needs. This is a curated clothing and lifestyle stop set up with intentionality so that we leave the planet a little better than when we arrived. Founded back in 2014 by Holly Ostler, this shop is not only a great source for vintage finds, but a success story for local entrepreneurs with an ethical mindset!

4. Curio Collective in OK Falls
For a lesser known find, stop by Okanagan Falls and hit up the Curio Collective—a shop all about vintage and handmade discoveries. Next time you’re looking for locally-made art or specialty gifts, spend the day discovering all that they have to offer! We’re not saying a visit has to end with a stop at Tickleberry’s, but we’re not denying it, either…

Give yourself an adventure and get lost in all the knick-knacks you can find at your local vintage shop! We dare you to discover the wackiest, wildest piece and tag us! After all, the Okanagan has some really great hidden treasures from our decades as BC’s fruit capital to the summertime oasis we’re still known for.
Happy shopping you vintage lovers!
