Shopping in Naramata Village

When you hear “Naramata” in the summertime, nine times out of ten you’ll picture the Bench and all the world-renowned wineries dotting your maps app. And we can’t blame you—summer just tastes better with Narmata wines.

But earlier this month our team had the chance to meander the quiet village streets, stopping in at various businesses along Robinson Ave. It reminded us about the true lifeblood of this quaint, little community tucked away against Okanagan Lake, and that small, mom and pop shops are at the heart of everything we love about this region.

So we decided to map out our journey and pave the way for you to experience what it’s like to shop in Naramata village.

Stop One: Frankie’s Beach Provisions

First up we’ve got the new kid on the block: Frankie’s Beach Provisions. This is Naramata’s newest, cutest and pinkest shop along the strip! Here you’ll find delicious and healthy smoothies, acai bowls, milkshakes, grab-and-go snack options, as well as a curated collection of eco-conscious beach provisions… Trust us when we say their sunscreen feels like a dream on your skin, and little pieces like after-sun spray are a game changer in the Okanagan heat.

This shop is perfect for: days at the beach, a refreshing treat in the heat, and rentable beach chairs and even pickleball kits.

Stop Two: Naramata General Store

Across the street you’ll notice a very unassuming general store—but honestly, this place is so much more than that term can encompass. The Naramata General Store is a community hub where you can visit the deli for fresh sandwiches and soups, mail out a package, stock up on local wines and beers, grab some essentials like fresh fruit and local berries, and even a license for your dog! Why leave the village when you can grab milk and butter for your AirBnb here? They also have the iconic and well-loved ice cream window where you can get a sweet treat for those hot, summer days…

This shop is perfect for: stocking up on local produce, getting bottles of local wine, grab-and-go snacks, and delicious ice cream!

Stop Three: Sun N’ Sup

Searching for somewhere to rent watersport equipment in the heart of Naramata? Sun N’ Sup has what you’ll need and more. Here you’ll find an exceptional assortment of beachwear curated specifically for this region; expect items like rashguards, branded tees that feature Naramata, a selection of bathing suits, hats, jewellery, and that Hawaiian boardshop feeling right here at home. And don’t worry if you’re new to paddleboarding because they also offer different levels of lessons. The important thing is that you’re getting out on the water, enjoying a part of summer that’s iconic in this area.

This shop is perfect for: all of your paddleboard needs, swimwear wants, summer accessories, and beach day gear!

Stop Four: Shades of Linen

Neighbours to Sun N’ Sup, Shades of Linen caters to the needs and desires of women seeking comfort clothing from natural fibers. Inside this store you will find timeless, comfortable fashion that helps beat the heat with effortless everyday living. One quick perusal and you’ll fall in love with the breathable, natural fabrics shaped in relaxed styles for a laidback, Okanagan lifestyle. Many original designs are cut and sewn on-site, showing the talent and creativity of a local entrepreneur.

This shop is perfect for: ladies seeking comfort, simplicity, and elegant clothing made from linen and cotton blends to 100% linen.

Stop Five: 4th Meridian Art, Vintage & Gifts

Calling all vintage lovers! 4th Meridian has a seasonal shop open at the tail end of Robinson Ave that is filled with all sorts of exceptional finds. Here you can explore art, prints, unique art cards, books, pottery, textiles, and many other small surprises. The entire space feels itself like a mini-gallery, showcasing local and international creativity. Don’t be surprised if you get pulled in by the unique aspect of BC and Okanagan history and design… You can also stock up on a selection of Naramata Supply Co. infused salts, freeze dried herbs and edible flower confetti, as well as locally grown and made lavender products!

This shop is perfect for: small unique finds, vintage and antique lovers, art aficionados, and those who want to find a bit of history.

Open everyday from 11:30am until around 4pm.

But our favourite last stop isn’t to buy… but to experience the revitalization of Naramata’s laneways! A special project by the community, you might notice that Naramata’s side streets and back alleys are full of stunning and overflowing flowers. This is a very intentional move to bring colour and life back to these spaces, and allow visitors and locals alike to stop, pause, and take in the flowers.

So there you have it! Our full list of shopping (and a floral side stop) all along Robinson Ave in the heart of Naramata.
